Play KeyControl in your browser

You can now play KeyControl right in your browser. This means you don’t have to have the Yahoo! Widget Engine or the Apple Dashboard to play! All you need is the Flash Player, version 6 or above (which ~%99 of people have the Flash Player already).

To play, just go to the KeyControl website and click “Play in your browser”. You can switch internet scoring on or off, and set your username and password by clicking on the “s” in the lower right-hand corner of the game.

RSS 2 HTML Update

RSS 2 HTML has now served more than 2,104,543 requests. Here’s a list of the top 5 users of RSS 2 HTML:

Domain Requests
http://www.e-selides.gr/ 1,356,463
http://needsofthemany.blogono.com/ 109,390
http://www.segasaturno.com/ 21,574
http://www.copasocial.com/ 20,728
http://www.inventright.com/ 18,240

It has come to my attention that some people have been hiding the ‘Powered by rss2html’ link that is displayed at the end of the HTML that RSS 2 HTML generates. I haven’t made this explicit before, so I’ll make it clear now: please do not remove or hide the ‘Powered by rss2html’ link that appears, unless I have given you explicit permission to remove it. This link is all I ask from the people who use RSS 2 HTML – please respect that.

RSS 2 HTML now caches feeds for an hour. This speeds up access (great for you!) and will reduce bandwidth to my server.

It works like this: the first time someone requests a feed, the feed is downloaded from the remote server and stored on my server (rss.bloople.net). All subsequent requests will load the feed data from my server. If the feed data file is 1 hour old or more, the feed data is loaded from the remote server into my feed data file once more, and the process repeats.

If you want to disable caching, you can do so by going to http://rss.bloople.net and putting your feed URL in again. Then press the “advanced” button and tick “disable caching”. Then generate the RSS 2 HTML code.

KeyControl now available for Yahoo! Widgets

You can now play KeyControl on Windows if you have Yahoo! Widgets installed. The game play and design for the Yahoo! Widgets version is identical to the Apple Dashboard version, but the Apple Dashboard edition of the widget would only work on Macs. Because Yahoo! Widgets is available for Windows, almost anyone can play KeyControl and compete against each other in the High Scores. Just go to the KeyControl website and download the widget to start playing!

Rap lyrics

The below is a work in progress, it’s bits and pieces I made up while on holiday:

Hey hey hello
Welcome to the show
I want you to know
Some more about me

This shit, I did not plan it
This skill, you wish you had it
Brain the size of a planet
Mind so wide you couldn’t span it

Brawn, I have not much,
however I’ve still more than Munch,
So you can’t beat me to the punch,
I do have a sizable paunch,
What can I say, I like to munch.

I say brains over

Listen to this verse,
or you’ll end up in a hearse,
heed my warning, when you’re roaming, in the gloaming, you can’t be knowing,
when a creep comes crawling, he’ll be informing, he’ll be probing, about your political past,
what colour, what caste; then he’ll wax vast, selling sutures, educational futures, putrid papers.
Listen not to this man, telling you his plan. He’s the devil in disguise, Satan’s behind his eyes,
telling you lies, his eye’s on the prize, which is your demise. He’ll cut petrol prices, which seems like good news, but there’s danger in his views, making you all fools. Watch out for this man, don’t let him sell his plan, with his watering can. Petrol will go down, but it’s your grandkids that’ll drown, in the promises of a clown, made under false pretenses, an act indecent, without precedent. Gotta laser beam it, cut through his words of credence, see through his political ties.

Chorus:

You can see him perspiring, his eyes always prying, implying, denying, never inspiring, his plans backfiring.

He wants not dreams but not the gleam of poker machines.

… his paper vows, so get the paper towels and let’s cut this pretense of his defence, get off the fence!
